BISHOP'S WELL

about US

Since 1996, Bishop Atwood has been working on projects across Africa and in 2009 he founded Bishop’s Well, a ministry that saves lives by helping to provide a “Well of Resources” for clean, safe water and other projects. Since then, each year during Lent, churches and individuals across the country participate in the Bishop’s Well Project, and save change to save lives.

Partnering with the Assemblies of God water ministry, Water for the World, and the Anglican Church of Kenya, we have started drilling with a rig that W4W has made available. Even with the rig being provided, there are costs for pumps, pipes, fuel, and other costs. We have already drilled 5 wells in Kenya, providing clean water for hundreds of children and adults. The first well was built at Jehovah Jira Children’s Home in Nairobi. The sale of water from this well will sustain the 150 children indefinitely!

Another well in Oloosirkon is providing the first clean water that the village has ever had! In addition, the diocese of Sydney, Australia has donated a huge water truck to help transport the clean water for sale, tremendously expanding the income and sustainability of the project. Even better, the income from selling water to businesses will all go back into a revolving loan fund to drill more wells.

This year we are making Coin Bottle Banks available again for churches and individuals that would like to use them as an outreach vehicle. PLUS, 100% of the money that comes in from coin bank bottles is actually applied to projects with no administrative fee being taken out!

Not only is the return great, teams also share the Good News of Jesus Christ wherever they can as they share water. There is no need for people to thirst again!

We are looking forward to making the Bishop's Well another great way for us to help support our brothers and sisters in Christ.
